On June 30, 2001, CLAFMA President Paul
Schneider, Vice President Jim Page, and Director Jordan Pearl
represented the association at Code 3 Collectibles in Woodland
Hills, California.

Attendees at Code 3 Collectibles Collectors
Day check out the restored first aid and rescue equipment
in the back of Rescue 11. Squad 51 (right) from the TV series
"Emergency!" also was on display.
The occasion was Code 3s Collectors
Day and several hundred people showed up to inspect antique
and classic fire apparatus. Many of the attendees also came
in search of Code 3s recently released "Emergency!"
collectibles. The new set includes a 1/32 scale model of the
1965 Crown Firecoach that is part of CLAFMAs collection.
While assigned as Engine 60 at Universal Studios, the Crown
played the role of Engine 51 in the first nine episodes of
the 1970s television series, "Emergency!"
In addition,
Code 3 has released a scale model of Squad 51, the restored
Dodge rescue truck that appeared in most episodes of the TV
series. Squad 51 is the most popular vehicle in CLAFMAs
collection. Rounding out the Code 3 release is a model replica
of LA County Fire Station 127 (which served as "Station
51" in the TV series).
Paul Schneider drove Squad 51
to the event from CLAFMAs South Gate warehouse and,
as always, it attracted lots of attention. Also in attendance
at the June 30th event was Jim Pages reincarnated Rescue
11, the restored 1947 Ford panel truck thats an example
of the fleet of rescue vehicles used by the LA County Fire
Department from the 1940s until the 1960s.
According to Jennifer
Kaufman, Marketing Manager for Code 3 Collectibles, the display
of Squad 51 and Rescue 11 was an important addition to the
event and she invited us to represent CLAFMA at next years
Collectors Day.
