1966 American La France

The Torrance Fire Department purchased this engine new and assigned it to Fire Station 3 in North Torrance. That is where she served out her active front-line service. Replaced in 1980 by a new wide-body Crown, the LaFrance was in reserve status for the next 17 years, after which she was donated to the museum. This is the museum’s first diesel powered fire apparatus. Overall, it is in excellent condition work. Current plans are to buff out the paint and re-equip her with 1960’s vintage equipment.
